Civil Engineering

Cable Installation
With a wide range of technical equipment, Deutsche Tiefbau GmbH realises a variety of installation and assembly work. Whether cable pulling and laying equipment, blowing or splicing devices, we also attach great importance to innovation and quality in our equipment so that we are always prepared for any installation situation. Deutsche Tiefbau GmbH also works with state-of-the-art blowing technology. In the field of fibre optic connections, we manufacture fibre optic sleeves according to our customers' specifications. State-of-the-art splicing equipment ensures a low-attenuation connection of fibre optic cables of various categories. Our range of services also includes the production of fibre optic termination points in buildings, such as patch panels, from which the complex cable structures within the buildings subsequently connect.
Measurements
To check that the cables have been laid professionally, we measure the performance of the fibre optic cable over the entire route on completion of the work. This allows us to check common weak points such as splices and ensure the high quality of our cable installation. We use attenuation measuring stations and OTDR measurement with specific evaluation software, such as Fiberdoc for individual splice evaluation. For acceptance measurements and fault location, we also offer the entire range of required documentation of protocols, images, databases or plans. OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) measurements are an irreplaceable tool for acceptance measurements and fault location. They have become indispensable for setting up and maintaining optical systems and for localising faults. The optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) is a measuring device that creates a virtual image of the laid fibre optic networks. This means that individual events on the laid fibre optic route can be assessed not only qualitatively, but also quantitatively. Even under adverse working conditions such as a lack of working space, bad weather or rough terrain, our trained specialists ensure maximum precision in fault location and careful repair; including documentation.
